JOE MILLI
Hailing from South London, Joe Milli is a former Rinse FM & Balamii resident with a current show on SWUFM. Joe's sound is eclectic and percussive, exploring rich, layered grooves that cover many different styles of production.
Guitar lessons as a kid led to a long metal phase during his teenage years, while dubstep events like DMZ inspired him and his mates to DJ and throw parties of their own. Milli has spent a decade doing exactly that around Peckham and beyond. Summer 2025 saw Milli land on Livity Sound with his EP “Deep Forest”, an assured collection of crisp club workouts that land between techno's evocative depth and UK funky's off-beat, drum-focused functionality.
This year, the South Londoner has released tracks on “Funky Adjecent”, “Black Artist Database” and most recently Joe Delon’s “Welt Discos”. He’s recently been touted as one of DJ Mag’s “Emerging artists you need to hear in 2025”, pushing sets and radio shows that profile his diverse take on the UK sound. Standout releases in 2024 on Faux Poly (Manifest Leisure) & Crack Copies (Patience) symbolise a sound that he has been building towards, channeling the darker side of his production. Tribal percussion infused with a heavy dose of bass – hypnotic, moody, hedonistic rhythms designed for the dance.
